The gym facility will be basketball/volleyball courts only. There will be no pool or fitness equipment. It is not a recreation center.

The intent of the project is to create more gym space for our organized recreation activities. We have private facilities in the city that provide a pool and fitness equipment.

However we have talked about possible fitness/gymnastics similar programs being offered. We haven't solidified exactly what we will be doing just yet.

What will the community's access to the gym be? Will I be able to use the gym for personal workout? Instructor led classes/programs? Is there a pool?

Herman (and others interested),

The path is still a work in progress. However it must be noted that once the path ends near the library, it is the library's responsibility (Weber County) to get people from the path to the parking lot.

We have informed the library of that very issue and they are working on it. I'm not sure what their solutions are or what their time frame is, but if you want more information on that then you'll need to contact the County Library personnel.

The other side of the path which connects into Friendship Park is an issue that the City needs to handle. I thought that we had a path cleared all the way to the walk path through Friendship Park. I'll need to inspect this further to see if there is more that we need to do.

We LOVE the new library.
And it is great to have the shortcut from 700 E along the Elementary school.
However: The path needs improving:
At the school side the path ends in the grass, and at the library side the path ends in an steep incline to the concrete paving. My wife has bad knees and has a hard time overcoming the incline. And our dear friend and neighbor likes to take her dad of 99 years in a wheelchair but has major problems with the wheelchair at both sides.
At both sides she cannot push her dad across, and the old man, who can hardly walk, could hardly get up the incline. PLEASE improve to accomodate invalids !! Thank you !
